The common names of Polygonum Punctatum are Smart
Weed, Water Pepper, Water Smart Weed. It is found, mostly in the
Central and North-eastern States and the shorelines all over North
America. Polygonum was proved and introduced by Dr. Payne and
Trans. The mother tincture is prepared fro the whole fresh plant and
dilution from it.
It is a good astringent, diuretic and is well indicated for the
treatment of amenorrhoea of young girls. It is also of service in rectal
diseases, varicosis, burning in stomach followed by feeling of coldness
in the pit of the stomach.
