This medicine is also known as Yerba Santa. Its common
name is Mountain Balm. It is found in California and northern Mexico.
This medicine was proved and introduced by Pease. The mother
tincture is prepared from fresh leaves and dilution from it. Other references show the mother tincture to have been prepared from the
whole plant excluding roots.
This is a remedy beneficial in chronic bronchitis, bronchial
tuberculosis and asthma when these are attended by profuse, easily
raised bronchial secretions which bring relief. It absorps the effusions
in pleural cavity and is also indicated in whooping cough.
