The common names of the Solanum Nigrum are Black
Nightshade, Deadly Nightshade and Garden Nightshade. This plant is
found all over the world, particularly for the temperate and tropical
regions. Though this plant was introduced by Huges in 1840. It was
proved by Lembke in 1853. The mother tincture is prepared from the
whole plant including berries and dilution from it.
This remedy is successfully employed in titanic convulsion,
ergotism and stiffness of body when it is cold also. It has marked action
on the head and the eyes and is useful in meningitis and cerebral
irritation during dentition also.
