Specific Indication:
Chronic renal failure is triggered by disease or a hereditary disorder in the kidney.
Decreased urine output, need to urinate at night, easy bruising, blood in the
vomiting or in the stools, drowsiness, lethargy, confusion, delirium, muscle
twitching or cramps, urimic frost (deposits of white crystals in and on the skin),
decreased sensation in the upper and lower extremities, paleness, nail
abnormalities, appetite loss and coma.
General Indication:
Unfortunately, symptoms of chronic renal failure develop slowly. Most
symptoms of chronic renal failure are not apparent until kidney disease has
progressed significantly. However, some general indications are following i.e, anaemia, bad breath or bad taste in
mouth, bone and joint problems, oedema (puffiness and swelling around eyes, arms, hands and feet), frequent
urination, foamy or bloody urine, headache, hypertension , increased fatigue, itching, lower back pain, nausea,
loss of appetite and vomiting. Kidney performs so many functions for the body so when there is derangement in
the renal function, these are a number of signs and symptoms of disease and several different body systems may
be affected.
The four most common causes of chronic renal failure are diabetes mellitus, glomerulonephritis, hypertension,
polycystic kidney disease and another cause may be renal cancer.
