The common name of the Ignatia Amara are Beans of St,
Ignatius, Ignatius Beans, Faba Ignatic. It is found in Philippine Islands
and China. This medicine was introduced into Homoeopathic practice
by Hahnemann in 1805. The mother tincture is prepared from the seeds
and dilution from it. Ignatia is like Nux Vomica, it containsthe Ignatia
alkaloids, Strychnine and Brucine. But the are not inter changeable and
have their own individual therapeutics.
