The common names of the Ocimum Canum are Hoary Bosil
and Brazilian Alfavaca. This plant is found in Brazil, India, Sri lanka,
Pakistan, West Asia, Tropical Africa and America. Ocimum was introduced and proved by Mure. The mother tincture is prepared from
leaves and dilutions from it.
Ocimum Canum should be remembered in the diseases of
kidneys, bladder and urethra. It is also indicated in uric acid diathesis
when the urine is thick and having red sand. Symptoms such as renal
calculus and renal colic, especially of the right side are pronounced,
Swelling of the inguinal and mammary glands are also indicated.
