The common names of the Laurocerasus are Cherry Bay,
Cherry Laurel, Common Laurel. It is found in some of the Asian
Countries but largely cultivated in Europe. It was proved and
introduced by Jorg in 1828. The mother tincture is prepared from the
fresh leaves and dilution from it.
This remedy must be remembered loss of reaction because of
disease and the diseases of the heart and of the lungs when there is
much coldness. It should be remembered in cyanotic conditions of the
children. It is also a useful remedy for constant cough with chronic
volvular cardiac condition, violent pain in stomach with loss of speech
and spasms of the facial muscles and oesophagus.
